The Longdrop

Hi Everyone,

well, guess I’m still blushing from my sister KimB’s blog today LOL!!!! Thought Id never see those pics ever again – my hubby’s never even seen any pics of me when i was younger and yep he had an ABSOLUTE blast reading Kim’s post hahahaha, now im being teased from both sides :) Gosh sis, i’v got NO pics of us from our past except these 2 you sent me awhile ago:

Untitled-1 copy

You can tell we had good dress sense LOL, (socks and shoes with a dress hehehehe) Latest fashion deva’s – beats our matching 80’s kit.  Hubby was rolling on the floor laughing when he saw those hahahaha!!

and this little one of us with ma Sheila on “Ouma’s” farm………..remember the long drop???? LOL

2

We went to stay at my grannies farm one weekend and back in those day’s there was still no electricity or TOILETS back then in the rural area’s– we had to sleep in this massive room they called the dormitory and out there it is pitch black at night you cannot see your hand in front of your face…………….now i don’t know about my sister but I was scared as hell LOL, everything looks spooky in candle light and when you got to go - you just got to go…………the choice of course was to sneak in the dead of the night outside and around to the back where they had this THING called a LONGDROP………………..or use a potty, at that age the last thing you want to do is use a potty so you rather brave the spooks and ghosts outside and bravely face this funny outbuilding with a hole that goes to the bottom of the earth hehehehe. I must say that if it wasn’t for Kim being with me I would have flushed myself down that whole in fright!!! Guess Camping came easy after that LOL!!! Thanks for holding my hand sis, guess you’ve never stopped doing that:) MWAH!!

Got home late, so have to head over to KimB's and read her blog. You guys are something, and love the pics and stories. How about an out house attached to a barn..where as you visited the potty...you were being watched by a cow. MMM...now that is my scary. LOL.
The rural adventures. Anyway..I love your gift here. Bought your last templates and love them, but sure not making them pretty like yours. Think I need a class on the bevel and the texturing you use. LOL...
Thank you sooo much.

Hehe - we still have those sorts of toilets in the national parks although they call them environmental - self composting or something like that. I still hate using them at night.

Thanks for the lovely present today. Hugs to you.

Love the story of the long drops. We had old mags hanging on a hook on the door, no two ply or......three ply then. and then back to ghostie stories around candle light.

Your photos are SO cute! Living in this day and age of digital and being able to snap almost every breathing moment of our own children... having just a few childhood photos seems so sad! But treasured all the more I am sure. A great reminder when you feel almost too tired to pull out the camera.

I have not so many pics of my childhood too - perhaps I'll have to hunt a few out.

LOVE your flowers - soooo pretty!

LOVE LOVE the pictures and the storys..I can just imagine the two of you back then..I know what you mean about going to potty in the dark..we used to visit my uncle in the country..we had lights but no heat other than fireplaces and a coal stove in the kitchen..and no bathroom inside...we had to use the outhouse and it was called and I was always afraid something would come out of that deep dark hole and get me...thanks for bringing back some fond memories

HAHAHAHAHA Funny pics & stories! Love goin' down Memory Lane w/ you & Kim! I hate 'longdrops'! We call 'em outhouses. They are SOOOOOO nasty!!! I don't like using them any time of day, esp HOT DAYS with the flies & they're extra stinky from the heat! Eeeeewwwww!!!

OOoh WOW your flower templates are AMAZING and UNIQUE!!!

Have a wonderful weekend :)
